The Blue of China

Stereotypical image China is associated with bold and the colour red (中国红). However as a Chinese, I feel that this is a too one dimensional as China can be so rich in other elements and colours like calm/tranquility and blue/purple/pink. A classic example of that other side of China is Yun Nan, a city in China.

This turns my eyes to the Yuan Yang rice terraces, which will change colour based on the different seasons due to the reflection of light from the water. The water filled paddies are like mirrors, capturing every moment from sunrise till sunset. These beautiful scenery provides another image of China that should be introduced to the world, and I am doing it through presenting the beauty of the rice paddies on a garment.
