This dress is an attempt to change the perception of the world about media polluted; stereotypical image of China as a country associated with boldness, and the colour red.
In my eyes, the country is filled with limitless possibilities and personalities. China can be as bold as fire, but can also be as calm as water.
As the model wears the fiery red dress into the spotlight, the dress will transform into an unseen side of China that is calm, soothing and pleasant, and blue. The look of the blue dress is inspired by a scenic place unpolluted by media - ‘Er Hai Lake’.
Interactivity:
The increase in amount of light symbolises the increase in attention that China is getting, and an increase in light will create a change in the top's colour to blue and make the red outer skirt fall to reveal the underneath skirt layer depicting the Er Hai Lake.
